SageGrid doesn’t guess and doesn’t panic. All three bots follow the same rules, day and night.
Build a small grid
If price moves against it, it can add up to two more positions, so the whole grid can close in profit on a smaller recovery.
Close it all together
Every position closes at once: at the target, on a trailing exit that locks in profit, or at a hard stop of 10–15% of the balance.
03 — Risk
Built for the bad days.
Every exit is fixed before the first trade. Each bot has its own kill switch, set above the deepest fall it had in a full year of real ticks, floating P&L included. None was ever hit.

What is GoldSage?
GoldSage is the team behind SageGrid, a gold grid trading bot for MetaTrader 5. We test every version in the MT5 Strategy Tester on real ticks and share it with a small circle of traders through WhatsApp.
What is SageGrid?
A gold trading bot: an expert advisor (EA) for MetaTrader 5 that trades gold, XAUUSD. It opens small grids in the direction of the daily trend and closes each one as a whole, at a target or at a hard stop. It comes in three versions: Disciplined, Balanced and Aggressive.
Which bot should I pick?
Disciplined if you want the smallest falls: its worst in the one-year test was 27.4%. Aggressive if you can sit through a fall of 45.0% for the biggest gains. Balanced sits between them, with a worst fall of 32.2%.

Do I need to watch it?
No. It needs MetaTrader 5 running day and night, usually on a VPS, so its stops are always watched. Nobody has to step in.
How risky is it?
In the one-year test the worst falls, floating P&L included, were 27.4% for Disciplined, 32.2% for Balanced and 45.0% for Aggressive. The biggest floating loss on a single grid was 12.3% of the balance for Disciplined, 10.7% of the balance for Balanced and 15.2% of the balance for Aggressive.
Every grid has a hard stop, every day a loss limit, and every account a kill switch. Trading gold can lose money, and future results can be worse than the test.
How realistic are the backtests?
They ran in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester on 87,821,455 real ticks from STARTRADER, with the broker’s real spread and a 150 ms delay on every order. With a slower 500 ms delay the three bots ended the year at $3,731, $10,863 and $20,222.
Which broker and account does it need?
It was built and tested on STARTRADER’s gold symbol, XAUUSD.c. Its lot sizes are set for cent accounts, like the live account we trade.
Can I see live results?
